My small hometown of Ottawa, Ohio recently announced the opening of their very first café. Well Grounded Café strives to establish a welcoming, friendly atmosphere by serving the community and its customers with exceptional coffee and freshly baked pastries.
The owners decided to get the community involved by hosting a logo contest. In my approach, I paired a modern farmhouse green with a hand-crafted script font to create a cozy brand. To create an element of surprise, I added a pop of color to the palette. At the end of the day, my logo didn’t make the final cut, but I had so much fun rolling this out and I can’t wait to get my hands on a cup of joe!
:Hire is a staffing agency with several locations in Ohio. The project included a rename along with a new identity that would appeal to both clients and candidates.
As the word “hire” clearly represents their core business objective, its homonym means upward trajectory and movement. The blue dot above the “i” gives a subliminal nod to this meaning. The colon is a unique design element that is carried throughout communications, advertising, and promotions.
During my time at Cult Marketing, I had the opportunity to rebrand the Olentangy School District, one of the largest, fastest-growing, and academically excellent districts in the country, with over 23,000 students.
The new logo, featuring abstract figures with reaching arms, reflects the essence of achievement and success. The tagline, Flourish Here, reflects the concept of healthy and vigorous growth as a result of a particularly favorable environment.
Our next challenge will be to develop and create mascots for each of the 25 schools. Stay tuned!
My role in the TourismOhio account was to expand the brand through the new Ohio. Find It Here. campaign. By digging deeper into our research, we found that travel in Ohio facilitates deep and emotional connections. Based on our findings, I helped lead the development of commercials, print, digital and outdoor advertising.
The new brand position for Opera Columbus is to break down the traditions of opera to create a fun, innovative and unexpected form of entertainment that reflects the young, vibrant and diverse city in which we live.
My role in carrying out the new brand included creating artwork for each show that were implemented across brochures, hot-cards, programs, promotion videos, and website & social media graphics.
The Ohio Chamber of Commerce is an organization whose mission is to create a more favorable environment for business in Ohio.
During my time at Cult Marketing, we learned that there was a segment of the Ohio population that was anti-business. Our goal was to develop a state-wide marketing campaign to convince the population that businesses were good for Ohio workers and communities. The campaign included four commercials, paid social executions, outdoor boards, and a dedicated website.
Glandorf Insurance Inc. is a full service, independent insurance agency based in the small town I grew up in. They were in need of a new brand that felt more professional and I was thrilled when they asked for my help.
A blackletter typeface was chosen for the icon to reflect the evident German heritage in our close knit community. Custom details were added to the letter to visually enhance the mark. I paired the icon with a modern san serif to help balance the lockup as a whole.

Scroll down to check out a collection of miscellaneous projects throughout the years. If you’re someone who just got engaged or are expecting a baby, contact me and let’s make some magic together!

In 2015, I submitted a design for the CD102.5 annual poster calendar contest. To celebrate 25 years of being locally owned and operated, they asked that the design reflect the spirit of CD102.5 over the past 25 years.
The finalists display their poster at the Gallery Hop in the Short North. The public is invited to attend, view the entries, and choose the winner by casting ballots. My design ended up winning third place and 1,000 posters were produced and distributed to the public.
During my time at U! Creative, I had the opportunity to develop print ads for Big Ass Fans to promote their new residential line, Haiku. It felt only fitting that a short Japanese poem be written to pair with the fan’s sleek and contemporary design.
Additionally, I also developed a couple of holiday campaign ads. Using images of their products, I was able to construct a star and snowflake, and pair it with a holiday song lyric as the headline.
Pitfire Pizza is a hip restaurant chain that specializes in rustic, fire singed pizzas and handcrafted cuisine, serving seven locations in Southern California.
While Pitfire was experiencing rapid growth and success, marketing wasn’t top of mind for them. During my time at U! Creative, I created a pattern design, various print related leave-behinds and promotions, and a new website concept. I also assisted the social media strategy team in content creation and publishing across all platforms.
